Jeff’s Pirate Cove Part 3: we finally got to JPC

We finally made it to Jeff’s Pirate Cove (JPC) which, by the way, is a restaurant. There is a beach and food and its great! Next time we will wear or take our swim suits so we can play more in the water but we still had a great time.

After we ate we took a walk on the beach, my camera batteries were almost dead so there arent that many more pics.

So we took the fast way home and the kids fell asleep in the truck and went to bed as soon as we got home. We had a really great day and got to see a little bit more of the island. Link to JPC for more pics, and info http://www.jeffspiratescove.com/ read the story of Yokoi, its amazing!

Jeff’s Pirate Cove Part 2: Betsy

The next stop on our impromtu island tour was Fort Soledad where we met Betsy a 2 ton 31 year old carabao, and a local man named Big John.

after we checked out the view and rode Betsy, we got to feed her some baby bananas! This is the normal way to feed a carabao:

Then after getting up close and personal with Betsy we followed Big John and he sliced up some star fruit for us then gave us some coconuts, first we drank the milk then we tried the “meat” dipped in soy sauce, it was alright.

We all had so much fun at this stop. Big John didnt want any money or anything at all, just likes to share and talk with new people. We want to go back soon!

Jeff’s Pirate Cove Part 1: Cetti Bay

On Sunday we headed out (with some friends) to Jeff’s Pirate Cove on the scenic route and saw some more of this beautiful island. The first place that we stopped at was Cetti Bay. You park and head up some stairs to an awesome overlook. There are no words to describe the view, and pictures will get close but you have to climb all the stairs to fully appreciate it

Emmy’s Hair

I finally did it! I cut Emily’s hair! As you all know, she usually fights me every step of the way to let me fix her hair and Ive been saying that I need to cut her hair since the summer, but in the end I chicken out. Well since we’ve gotten to Guam Ive been saying it more. Since its so hot here anytime she goes out with her hair down she comes back in with her hair plastered to her face with sweat, its gross. Chris has been against a hair cut for some reason, its his baby girl, her hair is beautiful…blah blah blah. He isnt the one who has to fight with her to brush her hair on a daily basis. He kind of agreed to let me cut her hair last week and I hope when he comes home from work today that he likes it, he doesnt exactly know that I was gonna do it today just “sometime soon”. Anyway I finally decided that I needed to take care of it, its too hot here for her to be running around outside with all that hot and heavy hair, that and its been about 2 years since her last hair cut anyway so it was time.

so in the end I cut off between 7-8 inches

Introducing Sonny and Sandy Beach

Our newest additions to the Beach family are 4 month old kitties Sonny and Sandy Beach.

Its just like having babies in the house again, I have to make sure that every little piece of everything is off the floor or they will find it and try to eat it. They climb in bed with us in the middle of the night. They follow me everywhere and we have to keep getting after them when they do things they shouldnt, like climbing on the counters trying to scratch the furniture. They are litter mates and they definitely fight like brother and sister. But its also nice when they get sleepy and snuggle up together on you. They were not really used to people when we first got them 2 1/2 weeks ago but now they love us and we love them.

For Christmas grandma and grandpa gave Elijah a “real construction set” complete with tools and “kid wood” which is really just some wood colored foamy stuff. He loves it and we already had to get him a refill 0f the wood since he likes to saw and hammer and build with all the skills that he learned in grandpa’s workshop this summer. Here are some of his builds:

this is the 1st thing he made, an airplane for Chris. I love that he made wing flaps for the plane and then had to make sure it was securely anchored to the "stand"

he made this baby doll carrier for Emily, complete with a pillow <3

then my sweet boy made his bag lady mama a wallet

I cant wait to see what he builds once the refill wood pack gets here, he is really creative!

New year new place, new everything.

This morning I decided that I need to get back to this blog, I have run out of excuses for not keeping up with it. We are settled into our new place now, we have unpacked every last thing, made friends and are doing pretty good here now. Im taking alot of pictures just not really doing anything with them.

Last sunday we went to the beach, we even got an underwater camera to take snorkeling with us, but mother nature had other things in mind and the visibility was zero. Hopefully next time we can use the camera, its so cool under the water, all sorts of fish and coral that you cant believe you are seeing.

Easter festivities and……Peepshi!

The Easter bunny did not visit our house today (since he had already visited last sunday while Chris was still home), so I had several activities planned for the kids so they wouldnt feel left out on the real Easter.

so they dyed eggs then put stickers all over them and then I used them for lunch and Elijah wanted me to take a pic of all the broken shells, I think they are pretty.

so now comes the peepshi, found this link on facebook http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2010/03/peeps-recipes-how-to-make-peepshi-sushi-rice-krispies-treats-easter.html and decided to try it out and treat the kids. Here is my version, I couldnt find fruit by the foot at Rite Aid but used something that worked just as well, they are called sour belts. It was a sticky sticky mess but it turned out cute and the kids liked it, and thats what matters.

We also made cupcakes and played outside with the sand and water table and had a pretty fun day today. And Daddy experienced his first earthquake so I guess the Beach Family had a pretty full day today

So this is what happens when you send the kids upstairs to clean their rooms, you go to check on their progress and find this.

I think they may have gotten a tad distracted and off task My favorite things about this picture are Chewbacca and the bear hanging on the back of the ATV. I love my kids!
